In 1853, watchmakers invented this prodigious movement, a real mechanical memory. On the month mechanism, which makes one revolution per year, a small satellite toothed wheel (year cam) makes one complete revolution over a period of 4 years. Thanks to this cam, the movement automatically indicates the day, the month, the date and the moon phase - with no manual intervention even during leap years. Not until the year 2100 will it be necessary to advance one day by hand the date of this masterpiece of the watchmaking art. To offer watch enthusiasts a timepiece truly without equal, Blancpain's master watchmakers have perfected a self winding flyback chronograph with perpetual calendar.
